KONSTANTIN VARDELI FOUNDATION
In the summer of 2021, I set up the Konstantin Vardeli Foundation in memory of my late violinist father. Its aim is to provide financial support to young Georgian musicians from families in need. For details please see under Informations.
NURSERY IN THE GEORGIAN MOUNTAIN VILLAGE OF GERGETI
In winter 2010 Irina Vardeli launched a charity project to build a nursery in the Georgian mountain village of Gergeti. The original building had been damaged beyond repair in a gas explosion in the kitchen. The project was financed with private donations raised at more than ten charity concerts and thanks to the generous support of two Swiss foundations as well as UNICEF. In August 2010 the damaged building was demolished and the construction of a new nursery began. It was largely completed in August 2011.
The opening ceremony took place on 14 october 2011.
